Writeshop held for developing MATATAG teaching and learning materials
RCTQ organized a writeshop on 18-20 December 2023 in Manila for developing and validating a learning resource package for the MATATAG curriculum of the Department of Education (DepEd).
Writers and validators from 20 teacher education institutions (TEIs) as well as faculty members and personnel of the Philippine Normal University joined participants from the Bureau of Curriculum Development (BCD) and Bureau of Learning Delivery (BLD) under the DepEd Office of the Undersecretary of Curriculum and Teaching (OUCT) in working out the process for the material development and validation, and in writing the contents of the resource package.
The activity was part of the partnership between DepEd and PNU through RCTQ in supporting the pilot implementation of the K to 10 MATATAG Curriculum through the development of teacher support materials with student worksheets; and conduct and monitoring of the pilot implementation geared to inform the refinement of the learning materials for the revised curriculum.
Dr. Brando C. Palomar, RCTQ’s senior program manager assigned to the project, led the conduct of the activity. He gave the overview of the project, and facilitated discussions on the project process and participants’ levelling off on the deliverables.
Other sessions were facilitated by Dr. Maria Teresa Manicio, Dr. Darryl Roy Montebon, and Dr. Voltaire Villanueva—PNU faculty members and cluster leaders for the project.https://www.rctq.ph/?p=4712NewsMATATAG
