RCTQ leaders and staff are joined by DG Prof. Tahir G. Nalg of the MBHTE-Directorate General for Madaris Education, DG Marjuni Maddi of the Directorate General for Higher Education, and DG Abdullah Salik Jr of the Directorate General for Basic Education.

RCTQ presented the accomplishments of its third project with the Bangsamoro Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education (MBHTE) at a program attended by MBHTE senior officlals on 22-23 September 2023 in Davao City.

RCTQ Director Dr. Jennie Jocson and Deputy Director Dr. Allan Reyes led the presentation of RCTQ outputs which concluded the implementation of the Learning Resource (LR) and Learning and Development (L&D) Systems Trial to Support Teacher Development in Madrasah Education project supported by the Australian government through its Education Pathways to Peace in Mindanao (Pathways) program.

Director General Prof. Tahir G. Nalg of the MBHTE-Directorate General for Madaris Education (DGME) expressed his appreciation for the Pathways initiative and RCTQ’s support.

“We are really grateful for this type of assistance. As an infant agency, we at the Directorate General for Madaris Education (DGME) really appreciate the knowledge and skills we gained through this project,” DG Tahir said. “Our next challenge is how to sustain the initiatives we started with you.”

The presentation highlighted key activities including the conduct of needs assesmsent, review and analysis of L&D needs assessment results, development of L&D system and subsystems, and recommendations and ways forward. It also touched on other accomplished deliverables such as the training on learning progression, and the conduct of a workshop on curriculum quality audit.

Dr. Jocson thanked the three MBHTE director generals—DG Nalg, DG Marjuni Maddi of the Directorate General for Higher Education, and DG Abdullah Salik Jr of the Directorate General for Basic Education—for their support and collaboration in implementing RCTQ’s projects in the BARMM.

Since 2022, RCTQ has implemented the technical assistance for MBHTE teacher development in higher education, and the Learning Resource (LR) and Learning and Development (L&D) Systems Trial to Support Teacher Development in Madrasah Education project—both under the Pathways program—which helped transform the quality of teachers produced and practicing in the BARMM.
