VISION – To provide evidence-based policy advice for strengthening teacher quality
MISSION – To conduct high-impact, applied research directed at strengthening teacher quality
OBJECTIVES – To assist in the implementation of the K to 12 Reform by providing nationally consistent policy advice focused on:
- Pre-Service Teacher Growth and Development
- In-service Teacher Professional Growth and Development
- Teacher and Teacher Educator Subject and Academic Renewal
STRATEGIES
- Engage collaboratively with government education agencies notably the Department of Education (DepEd), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC)
- Establish links and networks with the education profession, business and other key stakeholder
- Conduct applied research on teacher quality at an internationally recognized level
- Disseminate research findings and related policy recommendations by:
– conducting international and national summits and conferences
– publishing technical reports, position papers and research articles
– managing a website dedicated to strengthening teacher quality - Support a culture in the education profession for applied policy relevant research
