About 4,000 school heads and supervisors from 16 regions converged in 17 various regional locations nationwide to participate in the second and third national validation of the draft Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSSH) and Philippine Professional Standards for Supervisors (PPSS) from July 17 to August 9, 2019.

The PPSSH and PPSS will complement the recently-operationalized Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) to help DepEd in harnessing its human capital to its full potential. The standards can be the bases for all learning and development programs for all public school heads and supervisors.

Aimed at verifying the proposed domains, strands, and indicators across four career stages vis-à-vis the realities in their actual practice, the nationwide validation would ensure that the final version of the standards represent the voices of the education leaders who will eventually be in the forefront of their implementation.

“Their (school heads and supervisors) inputs on needed alignments and enhancements as practitioners are crucial towards a more logical and comprehensive standards. Once these draft standards become education policies, our school heads and supervisors can look forward to more objective performance assessment, and well-guided career progression,” said DepEd R10 Regional Director Dr. Arturo Bayocot who attended the validation activities in Cagayan de Oro City.

The Bureau of Human Resource and Organizational Development (BHROD) and the National Educators Academy Of The Philippines (NEAP) worked with RCTQ in developing and validating the standards.
