The Philippine Normal University (PNU) presented the second interim report of its implementation of the Linking Standards and Quality Practice (LisQuP) program to the Department of Education (DepEd) on June 24, 2022. The presentations included two parts: (i) Program Implementation Milestones; and (ii) Gateway Assessment and Specialized Training.

RCTQ attended the event as part of the LiSQuP project team, assisting in the quality assurance of programs by ensuring that the design and contents of the course modules are aligned with the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST), School Heads (PPSSH), and Supervisors (PPSS).

The interim report was co-presented by PNU officials and LiSQuP Leads: Dr. Bert J. Tuga, President and Overall Program Lead; Dr. Marilyn U. Balagtas, Dean and Academic Programming Committee Lead; Dr. Heidi B. Macahilig, Associate Dean and Gateway Assessment Committee Lead; and Dr. Celia M. Ilanan, Dean and LiSQuP Training Committee Lead. RCTQ was represented by Dr. Levi E. Elipane, RCTQ Senior Program Manager, and Ms. Ma. Izella Lampos, Senior Project Officer. The NEAP team was led by Director Mr. John Arnold S. Siena.

Dr. Tuga presented the overview of the report angled towards a sharing of insights, lessons and recommendations from the LiSQuP program implementation, towards the proposition for a model of a Standards-based professional development (PD) program appropriate for the Filipino context.

The succeeding presentations comprehensively discussed five LiSQuP innovations that can provide insights on the directions for NEAP, following the NEAP Transformation Report. A sneak peak of data from the profiling of LiSQuP scholars was also presented. (RCTQ Comms)
