The Philippine Normal University (PNU) is refining its graduate programs offered under the Linking Standards and Quality Practice Program (LiSQuP), and RCTQ is helping set the stage for curriculum review and refinement by explaining relevant expectations in the three sets of professional standards, and the Curriculum Quality Audit (CQA) as a means to undertake the process. LiSQuP is a three-yar partnership between PNU and the Department of Education (DepEd) that offers professional development courses anchored on the three sets of professional standards that RCTQ helped develop.

On Day 2 of the PNU Academic Summit on 31 August 2021 which was designed for LiSQuP Adjustment, Refinement and Calibration (ARC) Workshop, RCTQ Director Dr. Gina Gonong presented the expectations and implications for career stage 3 of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST), Philippine Professional Standards for School Heads (PPSSH) and the Philippine Professional Standards for Supervisors (PPSS), which is the target exit career stage for LiSQuP scholars. She talked about how this career stage focuses on highly-quality teaching/leadership practices, as well as mentoring.

Dr. Gonong was joined by Senior Project Officer Ms. Ma. Izella Lampos and Project Officer Ms. Lizette Carpio who talked about formative curriculum refinement including mapping of all curriculum imperatives through the CQA.

LiSQuP seeks to deliver professional development programs through academic courses and specialized and focused training to 2,820 DepEd teachers and school leaders nationwide. The program consists of academic course work, job-embedded learning (JEL) activities and practice, and specialized and focused training, and will be delivered through the PNU’s flexible learning delivery (FLD). LiSQuP scholars, screened by DepEd, are given options to pursue any of PNU’s 12 master’s programs, eight (8) doctorate programs, and two (2) executive programs. LiSQuP will commence with its first batch of scholars in September 2021.

RCTQ is assisting PNU in ensuring quality assurance on the alignment of LiSQuP courses with professional standards. RCTQ’s work is aligned with its role identified in DepEd Order No. 11, series of 2019 or the Implementation of the NEAP Transformation, which named the Center as the provider of technical assistance.
