NEAP transition team meets for transformation progress and updates
The National Educators Academy of the Philippines (NEAP) Transformation transition team gathered virtually on May 7, 2021 to provide a comprehensive update on the organization, program and facility transformation of NEAP.
During the day-long virtual meeting, milestones of NEAP since its implementation of the transformation design were presented. Highlights of the reported updates included the expansion of NEAP in terms of organizational structure with the appointment of new personnel in NEAP central office and regional offices, the authorization of 47 Learning Service Providers (LSPs) and recognition of 51 programs and courses, and the rehabilitation of the NEAP facility in Baguio, among others.
The transition team was also updated on the recent partnership between the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Philippine Normal University (PNU) on the professional development of teachers and school leaders through the Linking Standards & Quality Practice (LiSQuP) program.
The meeting was attended by the NEAP Transition Team composed of Atty. Malaluan, Mr. Mateo, Dr. Diosdado M. San Antonio, Undersecretary for Curriculum and Instruction; Ms. Annalyn Sevilla, Undersecretary for Finance; Mr. John Arnold S. Siena, NEAP Director; Ms. Jennifer E. Lopez, OIC, Bureau of Human Resource and Organizational Development; Mr. Abram Y.C. Abanil, Director of ICT Service; and all regional directors. Also in attendance was RCTQ Director Dr. Gina Gonong.
RCTQ attended the event as primary provider of research and technical assistance to the NEAP transition team as specified in the Department Order No. 011, s. 2019, signed by Sec. Leonor Magtolis Briones. The policy provided guidelines for the implementation of NEAP transformation, including the creation of the NEAP transition team (Liz Carpio/RCTQ).
