RCTQ worked with the Bureau of Human of Resource and Organizational Development – Human Resource Development Division (BHROD- HRDD) in the conduct of a validation workshop on 30 June-7 July 2021 that sought to finalize the remaining Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) indicators and the corresponding means of verification (MOVs) belonging to Year 3 of the implementation of the PPST-based Results-based Performance Management System (RPMS).

The validation was done through a work-from-home arrangement using the online validation tools prepared by  BHROD and RCTQ, led by Senior Program Manager Dr. Allen Espinosa. This was followed by a focus group discussion which gathered inputs, feedback and insights from select teachers, master teachers, school heads, and supervisors across various regions on the feasibility for teachers to demonstrate the remaining 19 indicators in one year.

The first 12 priority PPST indicators were embedded in the RPMS through the development of standardized performance assessment tools and their subsequent rollout in a series of national, regional, and division level training conducted in SY 2018-2019, SY 2019-2020, and SY 2020-2021.

The tools that utilize the 12 priority PPST indicators for Year 2 were cascaded through a national training of trainers (NTOT) and the series of regional training of trainers (RTOT) and capacity building for raters before the start of SY 2020-2021.

RPMS Year 3 tools will be implemented during the School Year 2021-2022, completing the whole RPMS cycle.

DepEd Order No. 42, s. 2017 or the National Adoption and Implementation of the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers directed the use of the PPST as the basis for all performance appraisals for teachers.
