RCTQ conducted a validation activity as part of the development of the support materials for the Philippine Professional Standards for Teachers (PPST) in Manila on January 5, 2018.

The activity, which aimed to elicit comments and suggestion on the modules for teachers, was participated in by teachers, master teachers, and principals from the Department of Education (DepEd) and specialists from different universities as validators to ensure that the teaching practices are aligned to the selected PPST indicators for Proficient teachers.

The eight-hour validation activity elicited comments particularly on the outline of the modules, the language used, the layout, the alignment of the illustrations of practices to their respective PPST indicators, achievability of the practices, usability of the modules, and other suggestions to improve these PPST Support Materials for Teachers.

At the end of the validation activity, participants shared their professional reflections highlighting how the modules could help DepEd teachers improve their teaching practices and strategies in the classrooms.

All data and information gathered from the activity were then consolidated and taken into consideration in the module revisions. RCTQ research team also got consents from the validators as an ethical practice of developing a research-based support materials for teachers.

The activity was led by RCTQ in partnership with DepEd Bureau of Human Resources and Organizational Development (BHROD) and Teacher Education Council (TEC).
